Terms of Service — Puzzle Break

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Puzzle Break (“the app”), a daily puzzle game developed by Piktus (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or playing Puzzle Break, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who may use Puzzle Break

Puzzle Break is a general-audience game. You may use it if you are able to form a binding agreement with us under the laws of your country, or if you have permission from a parent or legal guardian. No account or sign-in is required.

2. Licence to play

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Puzzle Break on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not:

• Copy, modify, translate, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the app, except where such restriction is prohibited by law
• Sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its content
• Tamper with the app, its save data, or its analytics in order to gain an unfair advantage, or use bots, scripts, or automated tools to play
• Use the app to break any applicable law

3. How puzzles are created

Puzzles in Puzzle Break are generated by AI and then checked by humans before they are published. Every daily puzzle is produced by automated generators, then reviewed by a person for solvability, difficulty, and appropriateness of any words or clues involved.

Automated generation is not perfect. Despite human review, a puzzle may occasionally contain an error, an unexpected alternative solution, or an unusual word. We do not warrant that every puzzle is flawless, and we may correct, replace, or withdraw a puzzle at any time. If you spot a problem with a puzzle, please tell us at the contact address below — it genuinely helps.

4. Coins, XP, levels, and other virtual items

• Coins, XP, levels, streaks, hints, daily-spin rewards, and any other virtual item exist only inside the app. They are a licence to use a feature of the game, not property.
• They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money or goods, and cannot be sold or transferred to another person.
• We may add, change, rebalance, or remove virtual items and the rules that govern them (for example, how much XP a puzzle awards) as we tune the game.
• Virtual items are not refundable except where required by law or by the store you downloaded the app from.
• The app currently offers no real-money purchases. If we add them in future, they will be handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their purchase and refund policies will apply.

5. Your game progress

Your progress — levels, coins, streaks, solved puzzles, and settings — is stored locally on your device, not on our servers. We do not back it up. If you delete the app, clear its data, reset your progress from within the app, or lose your device, that progress is gone and we cannot restore it.

6. Advertising and rewarded video

The app may offer optional rewarded video — watching a short video in exchange for an in-game reward such as a free hint. Watching is always your choice; you can decline and continue playing. Where third-party ad providers are used, their own terms and privacy policies apply to the advertising content they serve.

7. Privacy

Our handling of information is described in the Puzzle Break Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: no account, no personal identifiers, and anonymous gameplay analytics that you can switch off from within the app.

8. Intellectual property

Puzzle Break, including its name, artwork, icons, characters, sounds, code, and puzzle content, is owned by Piktus or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Third-party fonts and libraries remain the property of their respective owners and are used under their own licences.

9. Availability and changes to the app

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue Puzzle Break — in whole or in part — at any time, with or without notice. We may also stop supporting older versions or older operating systems. We are not liable to you for doing so.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Puzzle Break is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that every puzzle will be free of defects.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of your country.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Piktus will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, progress, virtual items, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) Puzzle Break. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or ten euros (€10).

12. Termination

You may stop using Puzzle Break at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your licence to use the app if you materially breach these Terms — for example, by tampering with the app or its save data.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country in which you live.
